Although we will do all the necessary arrangements for the weddings. Below is a list of requirements for weddings performed in Mauritius.

Outlined below is the documentation required for a civil wedding in Mauritius. Copies of these documents will have to be forwarded to us at least 6 weeks prior to arrival of the couple in Mauritius. They are as follows:

• Passport copies of the couple
  (pages containing passport number, photo, issue/expiry dates)
• Birth certificates of the couple.
• If divorced: The former marriage certificate and divorce certificate of the couple.
• If the couple has changed their by deed pole: Proof is required.
• If couple is under 18 years of age on the date of the marriage: An affidavit, granting permission for the wedding to take place is required.
• If any partner within the couple has been adopted: Adoption papers need to be produced.

Note that:  Any relevant documentation which is in any language other than English or French must be officially translated and be accompanied by the original. Original copies must be taken with PAX to Mauritius.

It will be necessary for the couple to complete legal formalities in Port Louis prior their Wedding Ceremony and this will take at least half a day to fulfil the necessary formalities. When they arrive in at the residence, a representative will advise them of the date and time they will be picked up for the formalities.

They will be driven to the head office the group operator where one of the wedding coordinators will await their arrival and will accompany them into Port Louis to proceed with all the legal formalities. They will also have to stop at the civil status office of their hotel locality to do the publication of Banns and to discuss the wedding time with the civil status officer. 

Also note the various matrimonial systems proposed: - 

1. The legal system of community goods.
2. The legal system of separations of property
3. A marriage settlement embodied in a notarial deed in accordance with the common wish of the future spouses.

If PAX CHOOSE NO. (3) ABOVE THEY WILL HAVE TO BRING ALONG A LETTER DRAWN BY THEIR NOTARY.

CONDITIONS - APPLICABLE FOR ALL DIVORCED WOMEN OR WIDOWS:

Wedding can only be celebrated 300 days after divorce decree/from the date of death certificate of spouse or else should be holder of a medical certificate stating no pregnancy. This medical certificate must be issued in Mauritius

WEDDING PACKAGE AND EXTRAS

A colleague will meet the couple before or after the formalities to finalise the wedding arrangements, time of ceremony etc.

Client receive their wedding certificate after the ceremony; its a free copy. But if clients wish to have a second or third copy they must pay a supplement to buy the stamps. If client are non British citizen, we collect the wedding certificate to do the Apostil, its a seal that the Prime Minister's office affix at the back of the certificate so that the wedding is recognised in the said country.

RELIGIOUS WEDDING
WE CAN ORGANISE ADVENTIST, PRESBYTERIAN AND HINDU WEDDINGS.

We would like to point out that it is very difficult for us to arrange Catholic weddings for foreigners here. Though religious weddings is possible, catholic priests in Mauritius are quite reluctant to celebrate weddings of  Non - Mauritians as regards to all moral aspects involved in such a ceremony. The tour operator can organise all the items which would be vital to have at the church i.e. organist, flowers, choir, etc...

Following documents are requested by the Adventist/Presbyterian and Catholic priests at least 4 weeks prior clients have to meet him at least 1 week before the wedding but here also it cannot be guaranteed if he will accept - If  it is a Catholic wedding cults then they must send their documents to the priests directly on the following address:-

  Documents that needs to be sent are:

• Certificate of baptism and holy communion (newly issued)
• Certificate from their parish stating both party never had a religious marriage before.
• Report from their priest on their religious commitments.
• Authorisation from their Archbishop for wedding to be celebrated in a foreign country as well as his confirmation that the couple has been prepared to receive the matrimonial sacrament and to exchange the wedding vows.
• Copy of the publication of bans in their parish.
• Certificate of civil wedding.
• Dispenses from religious authorities for any special cases.
• Identity card.

Please note that if cults have not been civilly married they should have the civil wedding first, followed by the church wedding.

All documents needed for both civil & religious wedding must be either English or French.

There is no cost involved for a catholic wedding. We suggest PAX to give a donation to the priest. Couple must arrive in Mauritius three days prior to the Wedding date.
